ABOUT VIKKI DAY

My name is Vikki Day. I am a lifelong artist who finds joy in expressing creativity through various forms of art. I am largely self-taught. I won my first art award in a 5th grade coloring contest and I got hooked!
When I moved to Vermont from the Chicago area in 1990, I gained some notoriety creating intricately painted wooden bowls using colorful dyes and color pencils - showing and selling them through local craft galleries such as Frog Hollow. At that same time, I also developed skills as a tromp l'oeil mural painter and faux marbelier. Such were the times, but I found I needed to change with them!

I began my graphic design business in the early 2000s - designing posters and logos, for Vermont's vibrant musical arts communities. Digital design is fun and rewarding, but what I always really wanted to do was to experience the tactile delights of oil painting. Thank God I have a husband and family who believes in me, because they have made it possible for me to pursue my interests.
